Threading eyebrows and shaping them, have been a part of beautifying for centuries.

Though it is not known how they did it earlier, threading is the most common way to shape eyebrows today. It is not only a cheap way, it is also a very easy way, and does not pain as much as waxing.

Threading has to be done very slowly though. There are many women who may be sensitive to threading of the eyebrows and may develop allergies, or it may just be too painful for them. Whatever other ways have been explored, threading seems to top the list for threading eyebrows.

Other techniques may not be too appealing to many women. There are a lot of women who insist on the perfect shape and maintenance of eyebrows. If they are very specific about small details, threading is the best option.

It is widely known that “waxing gives only limited choices in terms of shape.” An interesting point to note, is that threading eyebrows first originated in India. This is the only way eyebrows are shaped in India. A long piece of thread is taken, looped and twirled twice or thrice.

This is then applied with light pressure on the area of unwanted growth, and the hair is removed. Threading allows the person to choose what shape they want because it removes the hair from the exact spot that you want. There are small steps to be observed while using threading to shape the eyebrows.

First the hair in the middle of the eyes must be removed, and then it must be moved slowly towards the ears.

•   If the arch is very low, hair from below the arch should be removed.
•   If the arch is too high, hair from above the arch must be removed.

You may use black pencils to color the area below to fill the space.

Ice or lotions may be used to soothe pain. But if done regularly, it may not feel too harsh. The hair may grow in about three weeks, and a visit to a beauty clinic may be needed again. But it does not matter, as it takes about ten minutes to complete the job, and you also end up looking good.
