Aromatherapy in Cellulite Treatment

Therapeutic oils and aroma have long been traveling hand in hand and the resultant effect has been a completely new direction in the healing sciences. Aromatherapy oils, as they are known now have delivered many-a-benefits to the ailed, the simplest one being positive mood swings. One might argue claiming scents are known for long to affect the human psychology; what benefit does it bring when the concern is physiological? For an answer to that, we need a little statistics on the current cosmetic users’ group.

Surveys have shown even the most expensive of over-the-counter creams and lotions fail to eliminate cellulite permanently; it’s just the formation of cellulite that’s barred to a certain extent. Juniper and rosemary both have vasodilative and diuretic properties while the beautifully scented lavender is great for relaxing the nerves. While the first two also stimulate blood and lymph circulation; reduce formation of benign lumps; eases swelling and decreases fluid accumulation in the fatty tissues, the third one tones up the skin; removes dead cells and bring forth a revitalizing effect. However, the flavors need a base to adhere to and therapeutic carrier oil is the answer. So we go a step ahead; it’s a psychosomatic treatment altogether.

One might pose questions regarding the usage of the fragrances after reading this part – if it’s a proper and regular massage that can reduce cellulite, then can’t one cut the costs down by chucking of the fragrances? After all, the base oils nourish the skin on their own and help in retaining enough heat to soften cellulite down. Both right and wrong, for anything related to obesity relates to hormonal imbalances. No, it’s not about thyroid; we are discussing the sex-defining endocrine secretions.

We all know that working upon a muscle releases some amount of testosterone, which has an inherent lipid-breaking property. Massaging affects the muscles and generates some amount of heat as well and both work together the same goal. And as it has been discussed above, fragrances can help relaxing; they help the tensed muscles to ease down as well as counterbalance testosterone by producing estrogen in the body. Testosterone takes away the smoothness in skin, so the rest can easily be comprehended. Moreover, certain oils with great therapeutic properties cannot be used directly on the skin; the fragrances react chemically with them to drive the adverse factors out.

So there you are – choose from any of the above three fragrances in combination with rosehip, grape seed, jojoba (ho-ho-ba) or avocado oil to experience the best aromatherapy against cellulite formation.
