Tips about Laser Hair Removal

When you take the decision of removing your body hair, you have to be well informed firstly. Therefore, a bit of documentation won’t hurt; on the contrary, it’s all in your favor, so that you should be aware of what the procedure involves both advantages and disadvantages. The laser may be efficient and revolutionary…but you can never stay calm unless you feel a bit informed.

Laser hair removal is the most recent technology ‘conquest’ concerning unwanted hair removal. The ideal epidemical type for this kind of treatment is the lighter one with darker hair; depending on the cosmetician’s experience one can obtain satisfying results on a darker skin also. The laser is not that efficient for women with blond or white hair.

Before starting this procedure (which is composed of several sessions in order to destroy completely the unwanted hair), ask for a dermatologist’s advice, in order to make sure that your epidermis is suited for a laser treatment. Also, make sure that the doctor that attends you is competent and well-prepared. Here are some questions that you should ask your doctor:

  • The apparatus is yours or is it hired?

In case the apparatus belongs to the doctor, this is an encouraging clue regarding the doctor’s competence and experience concerning this domain.

  • How many patients have you had until now?
  • What results should I expect at?

Also ask for special offers; ask to pay for all treatments upfront in exchange for a discount. Offer to bring a friend in order to see if you’ll get a discount for that.

Ask if they have financing in exchange for buying for multiple areas or packaging with another procedure.

In comparison to electrolysis, which treats the hair one by one, the laser destroys more follicles simultaneously, without letting any scars or without changing the tegument color. This method can treat almost any body part, both large areas (the back, the arms or the legs) and smaller parts (the mustache, the armpit or the intimate part). After the treatment, when the pores close themselves, the skin remains fine and smooth. The last advice: avoid using the laser near your eyes, for example in the eyebrows area or at the superior nose basis. The laser goes very deeply, that is why, for the previously mentioned areas it is advisable that you should use tweezers, wax or electrolyze. The permanent facial hair removal is meant to treat a relatively popular condition among women, the hair growing in areas where it shouldn’t usually grow, following a manly model. In this case, it is advisable for the patient to visit the endocrinologist and perform a sanguine corticosteroid hormones distribution. Another cause of the hirsute condition is the poly cystic ovary, which can be discovered by doing an echo graphic examination. Sometimes, there are chosen oral hormonal substances, but most of the doctors recommend the treatments based on permanent photo depilation.

Concerning permanent hair removal, in the Occident there is a clear difference between ‘clinic’ depilation and the one made in beauty centers; it is similar to the comparison between being treated by a doctor, on one hand, and by a cosmetician - on the second hand.
