Animal TattoosEven if there is a general prejudice according to which tattoos and piercing are related to a specific gang or group culture, to all that means suburban life or what is worse, prison or rebellion specific to youth years, it appears that the reality is totally different. The truth is that people belonging to different social categories choose to decorate their body in this manner for different reasons. For example tattoos and piercing can be used in order to make a personal declaration, they allow a teenager integrate in a group and be like the persons in his or her entourage, or it can be simply perceived as a form of art. First of all you must be sure that you know everything about a tattoo’s consequences upon your health and then if this is what you want you are free to choose what model you like. One of the most popular tattoo designs are those representing different animals. These types of tattoos are furthermore divided in tribal tattoos or Celtic tattoos. Different tribes used to consider that there are animals which bring them luck in everything they do, therefore they used to call it totemic animal, as a symbol of their tribe and they used to tattoo that animal image on their bodies. It was as well a method of intimidating their enemies. Imagine a fierce warrior bearing a head of a fiercer tiger coming up to you. Even if you are a good fighter too this image can create a fear feeling. These were only the early days of tribal animal tattoos. To continue with, Celts have always had a fascination upon people irrespective of their geographical location or their culture. We keep being fascinated by Celtic dragons which seem so beautiful and so terrifying in the same time. Actually this is probably the reason why such images are attractive; because of the contrast suggested by them: beautiful and wild. Sometimes animal tattoos are combined with other contrasting symbols, for example with flowers, hearts or fairies, or celestial elements like stars, the moon, the sun. These contrasts might suggest that human nature is actually dual, that human soul actually hides a bright side and a dark side as well. As far as animal tattoo colors are concerned you can use any color which can be combined harmoniously with your personality. So you can use warm colors like red, orange or yellow or cold colors like blue and purple shades or even strong ones like black or dark grey. Animal tattoos can be borne anywhere on your body, but the most popular place for any kind of tattoo is the arm. That does not mean that you can’t have an animal tattoo on your back, or shoulders or ankles or anywhere else as long as it is your choice. Finally, as it is said that we all have an equivalent tree corresponding to our zodiac sign and which brings us luck, so we can also have such an animal, corresponding to our personality, like in the Chinese zodiac.
