Tattoo Artist

The scene has undergone a change of recent; a tattoo artist is now in high demands and stand equally among the successful, creative professionals. All right, it took some time for the tattoo artist to become at par with tattoo art, which took even longer to traverse the path from dark, dingy alleys to gleaming, sophisticated tattoo parlors. Tattoo art now has become an integral part of a considerable portion of the mainstream popularity; not only has it been thrust into limelight, but has also been tattooed across the mind of countless millions.

From the convicts to the white-collars, the journey has not been an easy one for the tattoo artist and there are ample reasons behind that. From the quality and the intricacy to the permanency and pain, there are a lot of factors that had formerly barred them from progressing into the mainstream, but the good news is that they have accomplished finally their much-awaited success.

Firstly, it’s the technology that the tattoo artist must stay grateful to. The key growth and success factors for many professionals today have embraced the tattoo artist as well and tattooing machines are the proof. Though there still remains the need for the tattoo artist’s hands for finer touch-ups of intricate details, but the overall process has become faster and less painful than before.

If one speaks about a clan that praises democracy in its truest form, it is none but the tattoo artist. For the art of tattooing surpasses every bar – be it the color, the race or the gender - when it comes to etching a design. But the sad part of the story is, how much ever it has become easy finding a tattoo parlor in any given locality, it is tougher to find the right tattoo artist. For one who is good at etching geometric patterns or plain lettering may prove to be a fool when it comes to intricate designs. So how to find (read fish) the right one? The following suggestions may help.

  • Research about the tattoo artist on his area of expertise. Each artist has his/her own specialty when it comes to particular designs; thus, a specialist in tribal designs may not provide the right touch for the 70s psychedelia; the ones into abstract designs won’t be able to handle the 80’s NWOBHM.
  • Researches must also be conducted on what kind of equipments he uses.
  • A proper tattoo gun is of paramount importance; they add precision and keep infection and post-tattoo agonies at bay. If it is a homemade tattoo gun, make sure it works properly. Also, the cleansing measures should be enquired about before putting your skin under strain.
  • It’s important that the tattoo artist uses a new needle every time; there are some who use the same needle for keeping the costs low but it’s always better to pay a little more to save mammoth medical bills afterwards.
  • Make sure the tattoo artist has flash art, art-tattooing books and real testimonials available.
