Tattoo Machine

Once you decided to have a tattoo, the first step is to make a selection among tattooing artists. This aspect is vital because this artist is really very proud of what he does and his artistic vision is strictly individual. You have to make sure that the artist you have chosen is one whose work you love because perhaps you will live all the rest of your life in the company of his work.

For a professional tattooing you need a large range of equipment: tattoo machine, high quality China ink, accessories and medical equipment. In order to understand why you need all these you have to understand what modern tattooing process consists of.

Tattooing means the insertion of a pigment, specially destined to this purpose, at the level of your dermal layer. This is performed using unique needles powered by the electric tattooing machine.

The tattooed area is disinfected before the operation with a special disinfecting product for teguments, and after finishing the tattooing operation the area is disinfected with surgery soap and after that a bandage is applied.

A professional tattooing machine can be demounted and its components are made of medicinal stainless steel which allows their sterilizing after each use. The needles used are packed individually, they are sterile and labelled with expiration date and they contain a coloured indicator which certifies the fact that sterilizing was performed. The needles are welded on the steel bar which is attached to the tattooing machine. Thus the needles are able to vibrate 500 – 3000 times per minute. This is the reason why modern tattooing is less painful, as needles move so rapidly that you don’t feel each sting.

There are a lot of tattoo machines types even if they operate according to the same principle.

The other main component in the tattooing process is China ink, of course. The pigments used are not allergic and they are made of a vegetal pigment in an alcoholic suspension containing isopropyl and glycerine.

They can be ordered to a supplier and they are produced in approximately 14 basic colours. China ink for temporary tattoos is produced in the same colours range in order to imitate as better as possible permanent tattoos. A modern option could be fluorescent China ink which glows in black light neon.

If you want to have your tattoo made at home you can use India ink. Sometimes you can use stabile pen mine. A lot of young people are very proud if they get to have a tattoo made at home because of its painful process. However, a professional studio still remains the best choice.

So before having a tattoo you have to consult different artists, to ask them show you their equipment and different previous tattoos. Moreover you can see at a glance if that studio respects hygiene norms absolutely necessary for this kind of operation. You must be sure that for the artist the most important thing is your safety and your health. Therefore you can ask him how he sterilizes the equipment or if he uses unique needles every time. You have a lot of aspects to take into account before tattooing.
