The range of teeth whitening options available on the market includes whitening strips, trays, and toothpastes. Each of these products has its own advantages and disadvantages, and a bit of trial and error is necessary in order to find out which one is best for you. Below are some of the most popular teeth whitening products you can try.
- Whitening Strips. These are quite popular for the home based teeth whitening crowd, mainly because they are easily available in grocery stores or drug stores. They also offer the advantage of being able to be used immediately. Teeth whitening strips are simply applied on the teeth and left on for 30 minutes, although some users opt to leave them on overnight. Teeth whitening strips cost about $30 for a kit, and they will have to be used for a few days to a few weeks in order for you to gain the maximum benefit.
- Whitening Trays. These are a bit more effective then strips, although they work in a similar way. Unlike strips however, teeth whitening trays require placing a gel into a plastic tray, and it is this tray that is placed into the mouth. The application process for teeth whitening trays should last 30 minutes or more. The main benefit of this product is that the gel can reach into areas of the teeth that teeth whitening strips can’t.
- Whitening Tips. This product includes whitening tips and a powder that is applied on the teeth. Unlike the other products, teeth whitening tips require only a few seconds to take effect. This short time doesn’t make it any less effective however, and many users prefer this to the other methods.
