Vitamins for Varicose Veins

There are many different vitamins for varicose veins available on the market today.  Although some don’t capitalize on the fact that they can be used for this purpose, many will aid in lessening the severity of the veins via helping with circulation.  Some good vitamins that may help include vitamin C, P, E, beta carotene, selenium, germanium, some amino acids, and most antioxidants.  Also, vitamins like Horse Chestnut and Bilberry will aid in reduction of these veins.  These two supplements contain the herb gotu kola, which enhances blood flow.  Although these supplements will not cure any condition, they can certainly help if surgery or injections are not an option, though it should be noted that with these supplements, it may take up to three months to see results.

Vitamin C and Vitamin E will help with blood circulation and strengthening the walls of veins so that this condition does not worsen.  Other vitamins that are recommended are antioxidants.  These vitamins for varicose veins will aid in the reduction and stop the worsening of these veins by keeping oxygen from reacting with other chemicals in the body, which can reduce swelling in varicose veins.  Vitamin P is one of the most proven vitamins to help with this condition, and can be found in the skin of fruits such as grapes, berries, and apples.  Vitamins for varicose veins may not produce the results that surgery or injections can, but will do wonders to help reduce the appearance of varicose veins and to help keep them from getting worse.

Some other vitamins for varicose veins that are helpful are vitamins designed to help the circulatory system.  Magnesium and CoQ10 are great supplements to help increase circulation.  Also, Fish Oil and Omega-3 Fatty Acid supplements have been recommended by the American Heart Association to help people with circulatory problems.  While these supplements don’t specifically say that they are vitamins for varicose veins, they are formulated to aid in circulation, and poor circulation is the biggest factor in varicose veins.  So these supplements offer some other options for people who want to treat this condition with vitamins and supplements.

Obviously, exercise and a healthy diet are the best ways to treat these veins, as with most medical conditions related to obesity and circulation.  However, when that is not an option, or is not working quickly enough, some people want other answers.  Sure there are surgeries, injections, and laser therapies that can be used to reduce and get rid of varicose veins, but not everyone can afford the time or money to have these procedures done.  Also, some people don’t have varicose veins bad enough to warrant expensive procedures.  For those people, vitamins for varicose veins are their best bet.  Aside from vitamins, having a diet that is high in fiber has also been known to increase circulation, which will lessen the appearance of these veins as well.  Overall, no matter what you decide to do about your varicose veins, at least now you have the knowledge that there are more options than surgery and expensive procedures.  Although the results will not be as drastic, vitamins for varicose veins are a good treatment for those who decide to use home treatment for varicose veins.
