Indians believe that bindi can be a magic accessory for a woman, making her look much more beautiful than she really is. But let’s see now which the history of this tiny beauty mark is. The word bindi has its origins in Sanskrit. The Sanskrit word bindu means drop. Bindi has double connotation for Indians. The first connotation is religious and the other one is social. We’ll start with the religious one. Maybe you know what Indians believe about the so called the third eye.

There are a few Indian women nowadays who associate a mystical connotation to their bindi. But they do wear it with respect for the tradition and maybe without even realizing they become stronger and wiser if they know that a magic bindi decorates their forehead.
